Akot Josephine of Kampala, Uganda

Meet Akot Josephine.  She is an escaped abductee from the Northern Uganda conflict.  She has witnessed great brutality in her past but now lives a fulfilling life thanks to Project Have Hope.

Through the efforts of Project Have Hope, Akot Josephine has learned to make paper beads for jewelry and uses her creative talents to design one-of-a-kind popular necklaces.  She enjoys the creativity and learning opportunities that design work offers and is excited to know that women around the world wear jewelry she creates.

Akot Josephine has been able to use her talents for designing and creating jewelry to earn a sustainable income and pursue her dream of supporting her three children through the highest level of education.  Akot Josephine is no longer a casualty of war but a true warrior for herself and her children.
