Natural Soapstone Eternity Knot

This gorgeous piece of art is hand-carved out of one piece of soapstone by artisans in Kenya. The craftsmanship of this piece is incredible and takes days to complete. Each eternity knot starts out as a large block of soapstone cut out of the mountains with a machete. The block is then cut down into smaller pieces and the whittling begins. Nothing is done my machine! Once the knot is carved from the smaller block of stone it is wet sanded until perfectly smooth. Each eternity knot is unique in color as is the natural soapstone it is carved out of. Each one will have hues of grays, beige, cream, and pink.
